RE: 2008 VETERANS SERVICE OFFICERS TRAINING/ACCREDITATION SCHOOL

 

I am very pleased to announce the Thirteenth Annual Illinois Association of County Veterans Assistance Commissions, Inc. Annual Veterans Service Officers Training and NACVSO Accreditation School. Three NACVSO instructors, Robert Park, Mac McAuliffe and Jane Roland of Ohio, will join our instructors and will represent county, state, federal agencies, attorneys and judges. It will be very dynamic and up-to-date.

If you desire to be a USDVA Accredited Veteran Service Representative, this school will provide you that opportunity. That will require you to pass a VSO test on Friday morning. We will provide study classes during the evenings. If you are a USDVA Accredited Veteran Service Representative, you need yearly professional training. The Illinois school will provide your yearly C.E.U. 16 hours. If you missed the NACVSO in Charleston this year, we encouraged you to attend our training or Accreditation school. A certificate of completion will be given to everyone who completes the C.E.U. training and/or school.

The training/school will be October 20 – 24, 2008, Monday through Friday noon. The training will be at the Scott Air Force Base, , Illinois. The training fee will be $200.00 and includes manual, materials, break refreshments, a daily continental breakfast and lunch. Rooms are $30.00 for single or double. The training will start Monday at 9:00 AM, with Registration from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. Daily sessions will be from 8:30 to 5:00 PM.

We encourage everyone to participate in this training. It will be a great school. The IACVAC instructors will also have three evening study classes for new VSO’s. We want everyone that is attending to be an USDVA Accredited VSO to pass that exam on Friday. I suggest that everyone register as early as possible, we have only 80 class seats available. Our IACVAC block of rooms and low rate will only be offered till October 3rd. The school and training seminar is open to all. Veteran advocates, veteran or non-veteran, full-time or part-time VSO’s, or post VSO volunteers, Attorneys or paralegals are encouraged to attend, as well as VSO’s from the other 49 states are welcome.

All attendees must complete Hotel Reservation form, including all the security information they require, or you will not be allowed on base. One other requirement for all of us driving is as follows: Driver’s License, proper vehicle registration, current proof of insurance, and a Scott AFB issued Guest Pass. If you are not driving, you must have Drivers License or State Picture ID. We hope to mail out all guest passes or pick up at front gate.

This is our state association’s only fund-raiser and we look forward to your involvement and participation. Please take note of the attached letters. One is offering your Commission, organization or any businesses the chance to sponsor the training. Please copy and hand out to anyone you feel might be interested. Have them complete our form, and/or provide information, and mail with check. Please call, if you have any questions on this years training or meetings, or e-mail jdenbow@willcountyillinois.com. We hope all 45 County VAC’s attend our 2008 NACVSO/IACVAC VSO Accreditation School and Training. Every one is welcome to our school, even those out-of-stators.

The VSO Training and NACVSO Accreditation School will be October 20th – 24th, 2008, from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday noon. The training will be at the Scott Air Force Base, Scott Inn Lodging, Scott AFB, IL. The training is open to all veteran advocates, non-veterans, full or part-time, volunteer post VSO’s, or attorneys.

We want to offer a special opportunity to our supporters of veteran’s issues. The Training will cost an estimated $12,000.00. If you, an organization, or business would like to sponsor or cosponsor a part of our training, we would appreciate your gift. We do need your help and look forward to your participation.
