I.A.C.V.A.C. MEETING NOTICE
The Illinois Association of County Veteran Assistance Commission will meet Friday, September 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM. The business meeting will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008, 9:00 AM.
The meeting will be held at the The Chateau,1601 Jumer Drive, Bloomington, IL 61704. We also have an IACVAC block of rooms at The Chateau. Make your own hotel reservation. The Chateau’s telephone number is (309) 662-2020, fax number is (309) 662-6522 and Web site is www.chateauhotel.biz and may be used to make reservations. Please mention the IACVAC Block of rooms for our special room rate of $69.00 per night for single and $79.00 for double.
On Friday morning at 10:00 AM we are scheduled to have Mary Pettinato, Vice-President of Honor Flight-Chicago, as our one of our guest speakers. There is a possibility that Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, Tammy Duckworth, will be attending as a guest speaker to follow Ms. Pettinato. The agenda for the Friday afternoon session will include the IACVAC Committees meeting to discuss Association business and other veterans’ issues.
On Friday evening we will have our Annual Banquet and Silent Auction. You can bring your auction items for display starting at 5:30 PM. The cocktail hour will start at 6:00 PM with the Cash Bar. The dinner will be at 7:00 PM and the Silent Auction to follow. Please send in your reservations for the Banquet/Silent Auction so that the hotel can have a good figure to work with in planning.
Saturday’s Business Meeting has the normal agenda. The Board of Directors will meet Thursday at 7:30 PM, 09/04/08, at The Chateau. Also, do not forget to get your registration forms into Treasurer John Farrow for the VSO School at Scott AFB.
